Strong roots run deep.  Our daughter, Erin, learned this many years ago, when she joined the Johnston County Livestock Judging Team.  At the first practice, the coach shared how he had grown up with many of the team members’ parents and grandparents. We had moved to Johnston County just before Erin was born, so she is the only JoCo-born member of our family.  She came home discouraged because everyone else on the team had strong roots in the community but her.  We explained that, while we hadn’t been here for generations, we were putting down roots that began with her, our little seed.  Since we moved to Johnston County 21 years ago, we have worked hard to be good neighbors.  We believe it is important to have a core group of people you can count on when you need help, and to be part of other peoples’ core groups.
